Our Story

The Albertus Project is a 501(c)(3)organization that was founded in honor of Reed McGregor, a special soul who lost her battle with addiction in 2021. Reed was one of Alex’s best friends and soon-to-be-bridesmaid. Reed fought so incredibly hard to stay sober and even while battling her own addiction, successfully helped others with their addiction.

Albertus Ave is the street where Reed grew up on and where she and Alex shared many fond memories. The name Albertus also means, “bright”. Reed was a bright light who brought joy and comfort to so many, wherever she went.

Reed was fierce, strong, and desired to make the world a better place. In honor of this, the Albertus Project seeks to continue with Reed’s work in support of those in the addiction community as well as to educate the wider public.
